Use your child for your advantage

In know, the heading look cruel and inhuman. Using children for benefit of self/family is a strict no  for many. After all, children are to be taken care and looked after.

I did not intend this post in that sense.

One way of entertaining a child and also get benefit from his/her is spend quality time with him/her. This needs lot of patience and time, from the parent to implement.

Lets see what one can do in this aspect.

A child can be in different age level and mental level.
First let us see what can be done with a child in different age groups. Before that, parent(s) needs to have time to spend with the child. In the absence of that, the below discussion in will be totally useless.

For a child in early age, (0-5 years), any activity with kid is OK as long as a parent takes time to be with the child. This gives lot of confidence and moral boost to the child.

Between ages 6-10, the child learns lot of skills. Not all children are alike and rate of learning are different for different children and only parents can understand one’s need and requirement. In this age, parents can make children participate in various activities to find out how one reacts in various situations and guide him/her accordingly.

Between ages 11-15, parents have to teach a child basic skills like purchase and banking. If these concepts are imparted logically, a child can understand various institutions and interactions clearly.
A child’s mental age can be tricky. However, it is easy for a parent to assess the same as the parent is in constant touch with the child.

A parent can assess as to what skills are required for a child and  can select various skills and activities accordingly. If necessary, parent can take the help of psychologists.

Coming back to the title, parents can get benefited from child in many ways. Parent can play with a child regularly. It is both fun and energetic for both.

Parent can use child as a goal keeper. If parents wants to reduce or eliminate a bad habit, he can request his child to remind him of the same.
