Cube

This is an inexpensive toy which can be gifted to any child.

But to a true problem solver, this is a good problem to solve. One way for the child to solve it, is by blindly trying. There are some basic ideas that are to be understood for one to solve a cube puzzle.

Important one is for a cube with odd number of faces, the central piece is the color of the face as it will not move.

There are many interesting videos on you tube on how to solve a cube. They are well explained. If a child is not able to understand the theory, an adult can explain him seeing the video.

Now the cubes are coming in varied shapes, sizes  and concepts.

There are even competitions being conducted in solving a cube puzzle and the time required for the same is gradually going down.

However this will not be a permanent entertainment for a child. Once a child masters the solution and the logic, it becomes fairly routine.  

One can try this as a gift to a child.
